Dr.Eltigani Abdelgadir Hamid Rahma
Professor Dr. Eltigani Abdelgadir Hamid Rahma is currently a Professor of Politics and Islamic Studies at the Faculty of Shari’a, Qatar University. He holds a Master degree in Political Philosophy, with special reference to Islamic Political Thought (University of Khartoum-Sudan), and a Ph.D. in Politics (University of London, SOAS). The academic positions he held includes: Professor of Politics and Islamic Studies (Zayed University, UAE), Language and Culture Instructor (Foreign Service Institute-US Department of State),Associate Professor (the Graduate School of Islamic & Social Sciences- Leesburg-Virginia, USA), Adjunct Professor of Islamic Studies (Shenandoah University, Winchester-USA), Associate Professor of Politics (Dept. of Political Science, International Islamic University, Malaysia), Assistant Professor (Dept. of Political Science, University of Khartoum, Sudan), Assistance Professor(Dept. of Islamic Studies, University of Khartoum, Sudan).
His research interests expand over two areas: Western Political Thought and Islam (with especial reference to Political Thought, Islamic Movements and Qur’anic Studies). He writes both in Arabic and English. One of his books (usul al-fikr al-siyasi fi al-Quran al-Makki) has been translated into English and Turkish as: Qur’an and Politics.
His Professional experience includes: Independent Curriculum Expert, American Institutes for Research, Washington D.C.(August-September,2014), and Curriculum Consultant, Ministry of Education, UAE (2007-2009).
