Graduate Studies Advisor Dr. Sandy Rahme was born in Lebanon on April 16th 1985. She received her BS degree in Electricity and Electronics Engineering from Lebanese University, Lebanon in 2007. She received her MS degree in Automatic, Computer and Decision-making Systems from Paul Sabatier University, France in 2008. She earned her Ph.D. degree in the field of Control Theory from Paul Sabatier University, France in 2011. She has held a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Paul Sabatier University in 2011-2012 while working on anomaly detection and estimation in TCP/IP networks. Then, she worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at Qatar University from November 2013 till May 2016. From June 2016, she holds the position of Graduate Studies Advisor at Qatar University.
Her research is focused on fault diagnosis of nonlinear and linear systems by means of sliding mode observers. In addition, she is working on designing adaptive observers for LPV systems with uncertain scheduling variables as well as with time-varying distribution matrix for single systems as well as large-scale networks.
