Abstract
The Qatar Domestics Tourism Survey covers the resident population’s domestic tourism activities. The aim of the study was to provide empirical information that helps in determining the tourism balance of payment within the Tourism Satellite Research Account as well as establish effect of domestic tourism effect on the overall tourism sector in Qatar. Thus, this survey includes residents’ outbound travel preferences, destinations, time, durations, and travel related expenditures. The Social and Economic Survey Research Institute (SESRI) based at Qatar University conducted the survey in partnership with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA). Furthermore, this first wave data is part of a four round quarterly survey. The sample includes Qataris and white-collar expatriates whose combined monthly family income is Qatari Riyals (QAR) 7000 or more and have resided for at least six months in the State of Qatar.
